We are just over an hour from Pisa Airport.
Fivizzano is a pleasant walled city with a famous Medici fountain in its main Piazza. Located in Northern Tuscany, in the region called "la Lunigiana", the city is a less touristic part of rural Tuscany in the Appenine mountains north of Pisa.
Ceremonies take place at the Ostello, a former 16th century convent. There are two locations that you can get married at the Ostello:
- Outside in a walled garden, offering spectacular views of the Apuan Alps.
- Inside the museum which has been recently been refurbished.
After the ceremony, there will be the opportunity to enjoy a toast in the Piazza Medici, a picturesque medieval square.
About Lunigiana
Lunigiana is a region of northern Tuscany. Luni refers to the celestial body of the moon, whose beauty is made all the more attractive when framed by the Apuan Alps. It is one of the historical territories of Italy with ancient castles, medieval hill top villages, churches and lush green vegetation.
The spectacular views across the valleys encompass olive groves, vineyards and ancient chestnut trees. The picturesque national park is set between the mountains and the Mediterranean Sea and has a more relaxed and intimate atmosphere than the more commercialised central and south Tuscany.
